Founded on June 21, 1976, Ed Video has been a cornerstone of independent media arts in Canada for five decades. On June 21, 2026, we mark this milestone with a special evening of programming that reflects both our history and our future.
The celebration will feature five media art installations, screenings of five archival short films spanning the past 50 years, and five contemporary works looking ahead to the next 50.
This event will be graciously hosted by the Guelph Youth Music Centre, with drinks and snacks in the Atrium, screenings in the Recital Hall, and installations presented at Goldie Mill. Participating artists will be announced shortly.
For 50 years, Ed Video has been a leader in the creation, presentation, and appreciation of independent media art in Canada. As an inclusive and innovative artist-run centre, we support artists and diverse communities through access to equipment, workshops, and public programming.
We look forward to celebrating the past 50 years—and the next — with you.
