About Us:
Established nearly 50 years ago, Ed Video Media Arts Centre is a registered charity and Artist Run Centre located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
We have helped our community create technology-based art projects that represent the diversity, spirit, and viewpoints of the people in our region. We achieve this by offering skill-enriching workshops at a variety of experience levels, curating exhibitions both on and off site, and renting out production equipment at affordable rates for users at all levels.
Ed Video is deeply rooted in the fabric of the Guelph community, actively connecting with residents and organizations to build lasting relationships and enhance the cultural landscape of our city.

Position Overview:
Ed Video Media Arts Centre is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join us as our new Executive Director. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to lead and shape the future of our organization during a time of transition. The Executive Director will work closely with our dedicated Board of Directors to steer Ed Video towards its next chapter of growth and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to advance the mission and goals of Ed Video Media Arts Centre.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, including programming, finances, human resources, and community engagement, while effectively managing Staff members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that empowers Artists and encourages experimentation and innovation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Stakeholders, Rights Holders, Partners, and Funders to ensure the sustainability and success of the organization.
- Lead efforts to diversify revenue streams and secure funding opportunities to support our programs and initiatives.
- Advocate for the importance of Media Arts and creative expression within local and broader communities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within the arts, media, or nonprofit sector.
- Strong understanding of contemporary Media Arts practices and trends, with a passion for fostering creativity and innovation.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, organizational development, and resource management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and financial management.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion principles, with a focus on amplifying underrepresented voices and perspectives.
Position Details:
- Start Date: May 1, 2024
- Compensation: $24/hour, 35 hours/week
