Ed Video Media Arts Centre is pleased to announce a special five-week membership campaign designed to expand our community of media artists and reward our dedicated members. To support this, we are offering an exclusive 15% discount for existing members who introduce a new colleague, friend, or creative partner to the centre to join our community.

The Deal

When a current member renews their membership in tandem with a new member’s purchase, both individuals will receive a 15% discount on their respective fees.

  • For Existing Members: Your renewal will add one full year to your current expiry date, ensuring you retain the full value of your previous term.
  • For New Members: Receive a reduced rate on your first year of access to our facilities, equipment, and community resources.

To ensure the seamless processing of this promotion, please note the following criteria:

  • Membership Tier: This promotion is strictly valid for Producer Level memberships.
  • In-Person Registration: Transactions must be completed in person at the Ed Video office.
  • Office Hours: This offer is available during our standard operating hours: 10 am – 5pm, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does this promotion last?

The drive runs for exactly five weeks, beginning on Monday, February 2nd and concluding at the close of business on Friday March 6th, 2026 at 5pm.

Does this apply to all membership levels?

No. This promotion is exclusively for Producer Level memberships. It does not apply to General, Student, or Organizational tiers.

Can I claim this discount online or over the phone?

To ensure the discount is applied correctly to both accounts, this promotion must be processed in person at the Ed Video office during our regular business hours.

I still have six months left on my membership. Will I lose that time if I renew now?

Not at all. Your new one-year membership will be stacked onto your existing term. For example, if your membership currently expires in June 2026, your new expiry date will be extended to June 2027.

My membership just expired, can I still refer a new member and receive the discount?

Yes, within reason. If your membership has expired within the 30 days prior to your visit to the centre to renew and refer a new member we will consider you eligible to this promotion.

I’m not sure if my membership is still active!

We’ll check for you. Send us an email or call the office and we will check your membership status.

Can I bring someone who was a member in the past?

Yes. For the purposes of this promotion, a “new” member is defined as anyone who does not currently have an active membership, including those whose previous memberships have lapsed.

Can I bring more than one friend to get a bigger discount?

The discount is capped at 15% per membership. While we encourage you to bring multiple colleagues to join the Centre, the maximum discount for your individual renewal remains 15%.

I don’t know any current members. Can I still get the 15% discount?

The discount is specifically designed as a referral incentive. To qualify, you must be accompanied by a current Producer member who is also renewing their commitment to the Centre.

What benefits are included in the Producer Level membership?

Producer members receive our highest level of access, including the ability to rent production equipment, access post-production suites, and receive discounts on workshops. (Staff can provide a full list of benefits upon arrival).

What if the two people want to pay separately?

That is perfectly fine. As long as both individuals are present and the transactions are processed during the same visit, the 15% discount can be applied to each separate payment.

What documentation is required?

Staff will verify the current member’s status in our database. New members will be required to fill out the standard membership intake form at the time of purchase, and present a valid piece of government issued ID.
